Occupational Health Advisor – Plymouth
Location: Plymouth (On-site; hybrid considered)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Thurs 7:30am–4pm, Fri 7:30am–2:45pm)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications

Our client is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Advisor to join their team in Plymouth. This is your chance to make a real difference by supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees across a dynamic organisation.
About the Role
As an Occupational Health Advisor, you’ll provide expert guidance on employee health and wellbeing, managing referrals, delivering medical assessments, and offering clear, evidence-based advice. You’ll play a vital role in supporting colleagues, providing mentorship, and ensuring that occupational health services are delivered to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver case management for referrals relating to attendance, fitness for work, and general OH advice.
 - Produce professional reports that inform management decision-making.
 - Conduct fitness medicals, health surveillance, and interpret results to provide accurate advice.
 - Provide guidance on employment legislation and occupational health best practice.
 - Offer clinical supervision and support to OH Technicians and other team members.
 - Competently deliver:
- Spirometry & Audiometry
 - General Medicals
 - Drug & Alcohol Screening
 - Fitness for Role Assessments
 - Case Management
 
 
About You:
Our ideal candidate is highly skilled, compassionate, and passionate about employee wellbeing. You will have:
- NMC registration (Part 1) with a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Degree or Diploma).
 - Strong communication, IT, and time management skills.
 - Experience in case management, OH advice, medicals, and health surveillance.
 - A flexible, self-motivated approach with excellent teamwork, negotiation, and mentoring skills.
 
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications (Part 3 NMC, MSc in OH, dual RN/RMN).
 - Experience mentoring OH students, managing teams, delivering vaccinations, or providing ergonomic advice.
